Southland Roadie pt2
While this was our first caravan trip away it definitely wont be our last. We learned a lot, tried some things that worked and others that didn’t. I think the biggest learning though was to move slower!

Southland Roadie pt 1
I love a good roadie! I little under a year ago we bought a caravan with the intention of seeing more of the country, and working out if it could eventually become a full time thing for us. Our first real trip away was down south. It was awesome!

2025, my goals for the year
A few years back, five to be exact, someone in a group I was in mentioned they had set 20 goals around the number 20, for the year 2020. I totally jumped on board with that and gave it a go. Some were a roaring success (I read 20 novels three times over), some were more of a challenge (I only got to 14 non-fiction books). But I thought I’d revive the challenge for 2025. However, this time there are 20 goals involving the number 25.

Hiking the Rod Donald
It feels like forever ago now, but the weekend after we did Woolshed Creek we got out again, but this time for a day hike to the Rod Donald hut. I gotta admit, on the way there I wasn’t as relaxed as I’d like to be about the whole thing. Looking back I wish I had relaxed more too. We had plenty of time, and stopping to smell the roses, or in this case, throw the snowballs, made for a much more enjoyable journey, and more memorable for Benny too!

Marlborough Sounds Break Away
A few weeks back Benny and I joied one of my friends and her two year old for a few days in her family bach in the Marlborough sounds. The only way to get to the bach is to boat in, or walk three days on the Queen Charlotte track. There was no cell phone coverage there and no internet. It was bliss!

Exploring Woolshed Creek
Something I love to do is travel. I also love photography and want to get better at travel photography. Recently I’ve realised that we live in an amazing, beautiful country (duh!) and I can start working on improving my travel photography even without leaving the country. Something I’ve wanted to do for a long time is getting into hiking. When Dave suggested heading away to a hut recently, I jumped at the chance!
