2025, my goals for the year

A few years back, five to be exact, someone in a group I was in mentioned they had set 20 goals around the number 20, for the year 2020. I totally jumped on board with that and gave it a go. Some were a roaring success (I read 20 novels three times over), some were more of a challenge (I only got to 14 non-fiction books). But I thought I’d revive the challenge for 2025. However, this time there are 20 goals involving the number 25.

How did I choose my goals, and why would I even want to do this in the first place? Well, I enjoy a challenge. I also want to reduce my screen time and a bunch of these goals are great alternatives to that. They are also based around helping me increase time with friends, time in nature and my health and fitness. Basically all the things I want to improve this year. Will I feel bad if I don’t achieve them. Nope. They’re stretch goals. Some will be easy (I’m already up to 9 novels and February hasn’t even ended yet). Some will be really hard (I’ll have to seriously increase my income to be able to save that much!). But my intention is to hold them loosely, have some fun along the way and see where it takes me in the next year.

Here is my list:

  1. 25 games nights (10 down, 15 to go. Let me know if you’d love to book in a games night sometime)

  2. 25 nights in the caravan (15 down, 10 to go)

  3. Cook 25 new recipes (don’t think i’ve done any yet, any you recommend???)

  4. Complete 25 jigsaw puzzles (doesn’t have to be solo, friends most definitely welcome to help, but it does need to be at least 500 pieces. 4 done, 21 to go. Anyone local have one I can borrow?)

  5. Read 25 novels (9 done. Open to suggestions of great books!)

  6. Read 25 non fiction books (still on number 1, also open to suggestions of great books)

  7. 25 hours of personal yoga (went to my first class where I wasnt teaching in over 2 years a couple of weeks ago. So good to receive and just enjoy it rather than give)

  8. 25 walks (haven’t defined that one yet, but something more than just to the letterbox definitely)

  9. 25 reformer Pilates sessions (this one might change to more yoga depending on how the year goes, or sessions at the gym)

  10. 25 client sessions (anyone want to work with me?)

  11. 25 hours in the garden (should be easy enough, I’m not really tracking this one)

  12. 25 hours with firewood (this is Dave’s one. We get our firewood from a friend of his so he has to go and retrieve and chop it)

  13. 25 body code sessions (I did the training for this last year and it’s amazing! First session is free if anyone wants to experience this form of healing)

  14. 25 spa nights (just using our home spa. Too often Dave and Benny get in the spa while I clean up the kitchen, so I need to get in on it too)

  15. 25 journal entries (self explanatory i think)

  16. Save $25k (definitely a stretch goal!)

  17. 25 items decluttered each month (we’ve done a lot of decluttering the last few years so the first stage is probably getting rid of the stuff in our to-get-rid-of pile in the garage)

  18. 25 hours outside each month (a work in progress!)

  19. 25 new crafty/making attempts (and maybe getting some things off my to-do list!)

  20. 25 colouring pages done (another way to hopefully calm my brain rather than double scrolling)

Is a list like this something that would interest you? If so what would you have on it?
